Mukisa Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization [NGO] based in Kampala, Uganda, that enables families with children who have disabilities to provide a nurturing and supportive environment so they can lead full and purposeful lives. Mukisa Foundation uses a holistic child-centered 360 model that includes Health, Education, Family Empowerment, Capacity Building, Advocacy and Awareness programs.

Mukisa Foundation was founded in 2006 as a small drop-in centre with 8 children, but now serves over 5000 children in Kampala, Outreach Locations and through Partnerships with other Organisations in rural and hard to reach areas.

#Position 1: Full-time Communications & Fundraising Officer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Full-time Communications & Fundraising Officer to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote our products/services and enhance our brand presence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing, excellent communication skills, and a creative mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing plans to drive brand awareness.
  • Planning fundraising activities and supporting the Executive Director in key fundraising strategies.
  • Create engaging content for various marketing channels including social media, email campaigns, website, and print materials
  • Photography, videography and story telling for the organisation, including managing the content library.
  • Manage social media accounts and engage with followers to build a strong online community.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and advertisements.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities.
  • Assist with organizing events, webinars, and other promotional activities.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels.

Requirements / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field is desired
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications roles is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with children and/or children with disability is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and social media management platforms preferred.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Based in Kampala at Mukisa Foundation office plus requirement to visit programs and communities as needed.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

#Position 2: Full Time Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation processes of our projects, ensuring that data is collected, analyzed, and reported accurately and effectively. You will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop monitoring and evaluation plans, implement data collection methods, and analyze results to measure project impact and inform decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Monitoring and Evaluation Plans: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plans for each project, including clear objectives, indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.
  2. Implement Data Collection Methods: Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies, such as surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and document reviews, to collect relevant data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  3. Manage Data Collection Process: Oversee the data collection process, ensuring that data is collected accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner. Train project staff and partners on data collection techniques and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
  4. Analyze Data: Conduct thorough analysis of monitoring and evaluation data using appropriate statistical and qualitative analysis techniques. Interpret findings, identify trends, and draw actionable insights to assess project performance and outcomes.
  5. Report Writing: Prepare comprehensive monitoring and evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders, summarizing key findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Present findings in a clear and compelling manner using visual aids and other communication tools.
  6. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance checks on monitoring and evaluation data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Identify and address any data quality issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  7. Capacity Building: Provide training and technical assistance to project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation concepts, methods, and tools. Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the organization.
  8. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of best practices, trends, and developments in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools. Apply new knowledge and insights to enhance the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, social sciences, statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the context of international development projects or nonprofit organizations.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, including proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and methodologies, such as logical frameworks, theory of change, and results-based management.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and community-based organizations.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting transparency, accountability, and learning in monitoring and evaluation practices.
