At home, Mama Matthew would have to carry her sweet boy on her back, which was causing a lot of pain and was not functionally sustainable long term.
At the heart of Special Children’s Trust, is a deep desire to see every child flourishing in a safe environment and to see every family enjoying time with their child with special needs, instead of seeing them as a burden to carry.
For a child like Matthew who is not able to sit alone, an appliance like a specialised wheelchair can provide him with a whole new lease of life and a new perspective of the world around him

” Matthew was not able to attend school until he was 8 years old due to the condition he has and the lack of available funds. Miraculously we were able to find a sponsor for Matthew to attend school.
One day the sponsor was visiting Matthew at home and became upset at the sight of Mama Matthew having to carry Matthew on her back as he could see how she was struggling. As a result, he decided to sponsor Matthew’s first-ever wheelchair.
